Peace in the Midst of The Storm

from Barbara

Peace in the Midst of The Storm

There is a still, quiet place in the eye of a hurricane. No matter what storms are going on around us, we can find a place of peace in the midst of the storm.

John 14:27 NKJV Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

This is a command. Don’t allow fear or worry to control you. We are the ones who choose whether to be at peace or to be troubled.

I Timothy 1:7 AMP For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].

Faith is the opposite of fear. It is important to realize that fear is not from God. We need to turn our attention away from whatever is troubling us and put our attention on the Lord. Never make a decision based on fear.

Stay in fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Ask for His direction and wisdom. Singing praise songs and reading God’s Word is a good shield from fear. Jesus is our peace.

Mark 4: 35-40 NKJV On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” (They were terrified and upset with Jesus!) Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

Fear and faith are like water and oil. They don’t mix. You can have authority over any storm you can sleep through. Authority comes from your Spirit. Fear comes from the enemy and the circumstances that caused the fear.

Around 35 years ago, Pastor Jesus Espinosa and his nephew Oscar Hoyos received a calling from the Lord to go to Divisaderos to take the message of salvation to the people. They had religion, but not a personal relationship with God.

On their second trip, some men approached them to inform them they were not welcome in Divisaderos and told them they would kill them if they returned.

They were obeying the Lord, not men, so they planned to go back every week. The next week Pastor Jesus’ pickup broke down, so he had to borrow someone else’s vehicle. This happened for 3 weeks. Each week Jesus had to borrow different vehicles because the ones he had borrowed before weren’t available. Then his vehicle was fixed.

Later he found out that the men who had threatened to kill them waited outside of town for three weeks to kill them when they returned. But the men never saw the right truck. By the fourth week, they gave up and never bothered them again.

When God commissions you to do something, be obedient. Regardless of the opposition, OBEY GOD! Your safety is in your obedience.

Have Faith in God

from: Calvin Scott

Mark 11:22-24 KJV And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

In the almighty Name of Jesus, the mountain of cancer has been removed. The prayer of faith has been prayed over us, and God’s Word is working mightily in us.

Christmas 2022 in Sonora and Chihuahua- Happening Now

Agua Viva in Agua Prieta, Sonora

Jose and Marylu de la Torre, pastors of Agua Viva in Agua Prieta, Sonora are the ones who planted Christmas for the children in our hearts 38 years ago when we went on our first Christmas trip with them. We have continued to support their Christmas outreaches in Agua Prieta and the many other pueblos they do programs. All that Faith Ministries does to promote Christmas programs was birthed in our hearts by Jose and Marylu.

Navojoa, Sonora and Surrounding Areas

From Carmen and Felipe Vasquez:

Blessings to all the beautiful people who have helped with this outreach. God Bless you!

This year we will be presenting the Christmas program in some new places in addition to the places we usually go.

On December 10th we will do the program in the town of Navolato in the dining room where they feed the hungry with Brother Daniel Isai.

On December 13th we will be in Guayparin with Pastor Fermin.

On the 15th, we are going to some pueblos we’ve never been to Sebampo, Baynorillo, and Mabejaqui.

On the 16th we will be in Tetapeche with brother Eulalio.

There will be many other teams doing programs in the areas around Navojoa. With the help of many dedicated and anointed ministers, we expect to reach 6,500 children in the Navojoa region.

Carmen and Felipe buy all the toys and candy (with the offerings you send) and set up a production line on their property where various teams doing programs come on different days to fill the goody bags for the areas where they will be presenting programs.

Merry Christmas and Feliz Navidad

Faith Ministries Christmas programs take place throughout the months of December and January in many cities and pueblos in the states of Sonora and Chihuahua. Then we start planning for Vacation Bible School. Thank you for helping us bless the children of Mexico. And thank you for praying for our teams for their protection, and provision, and that they reach many people with the love of Jesus.

Luke 1:26-38 NLT

In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David.

Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you! Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean.  “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God!  You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus.  He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!”

Mary asked the angel, “But how can this happen? I am a virgin.” The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God. What’s more, your relative Elizabeth has become pregnant in her old age! People used to say she was barren, but she has conceived a son and is now in her sixth month. For the word of God will never fail.” Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her.
