The Tabernacle of David

There Is Great Power Released When God’s People Worship Him

from Barbara

Isaiah 9:6 NKJV “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called wonderful, counselor, mighty God, everlasting father, prince of peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever…

Acts 15:16 NKJV “After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David…” Why is the tabernacle of David and not the tabernacle of Moses being restored? For a better understanding, we are going to look at the different names of God in the Bible in the Hebrew and Greek languages. These names represent different facets of His nature.

In the Old Testament, there are 72 names of God in Hebrew. Our English translations usually only use God, the Lord, God Almighty, and Jehovah for all 72 names.

In the New Testament, there are primarily three names of God that we refer to as the Trinity. God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit.

Mark 12:29 tells us, And Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord. So, there are not many Gods, but many facets of the nature of the ONE true God.

Colossians 2:9 NKJV For in Him (Jesus) dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

Here are the five primary names of God in the Old Testament, which are usually just translated as God.

1. El Elyon: the name of the nature of God that is the Most High God, possessor of heaven and earth. He is the Father of Jesus Christ, God  of  the  nations.  El Elyon  portrays  the  nature  of love, light,

forgiveness, freedom, and life. Psalms 91:1 NKJV He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2. Yahweh is the name of the nature of God that gives law, leads to victory, judges, punishes wounds, heals, and delivers. The God of Israel.

3. Elohim is the nature of God that creates.

4. El Shaddai is the name of the nature of God that loves, nourishes, and provides.

5. Eloah is the name of the nature of God that is the Christ, life giving, creative force, messiah, anointing, the Holy Ghost.

The reason we are studying these names is to help us understand why the Tabernacle of David is being restored and what it means. King David worshiped El Elyon, who is the Most High God – the Father: God of love, light, forgiveness, freedom, and life.

David had a deep prayer relationship with God. Once David became king over all of Israel, he raised up a simple tent called David’s tabernacle where worship, praise, and prayer went on continuously. He and those of like spirit had face-to-face fellowship with God before the ark without any curtain separating them from His presence.

In Moses’ tabernacle, only the High Priest could go into the Holy of Holies, where the ark was once a year. If the priest had any sin in his life, he would immediately die.

David, it seems, never went to Moses’ tabernacle although it was still standing on Mount Gibeon about six miles away. He had no interest in it because God’s presence was not there. Under Moses’ law, he would have been commanded to offer sacrifices there.

For a short period of time under the rule of David, the people knew and related to the Most High God (El Elyon), the God of mercy and grace.

When Jesus died the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom signifying that the law that separated people from the presence of God was forever torn in two.

There is great power released when God’s people worship Him.

Jesus won the victory over the devil, so when we are In Him, we also have authority over satan.

When we worship, the atmosphere changes. God dwells in the midst of our praises.

Not All Classrooms Have Four Walls

from Bob Scott

My dad taught me how to: love unconditionally; worship Jesus; work; ride a bike; drive (at age 8); drive a tractor (at age 6); back a trailer; drive a standard; stack hay; ride a horse; fix a fence; mechanic; carpenter; build houses; build huge steel buildings; build sheds; preach; serve people; trap; hunt; ride a bike; cowboy; farm; missionary; husband; father; grandfather; persevere; fight; not give up; sacrifice; love spicy food; invest... and much more.

I will always be appreciative of him. He is a father, icon, hero, example, and friend. He always said that he and I together could do anything and together we have done a lot.

I wish I could be with him today just to gain a little more wisdom and experience.

Teach Your Children

Proverbs 22:6 AMP
Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents], Even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 AMP
These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be [written] on your heart and mind. You shall teach them diligently to your children [impressing God’s precepts on their minds and penetrating their hearts with His truths] and shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up.

Isaiah 54:13 NKJV
All your children shall be taught by the Lord, And great shall be the peace of your children.

Cumpas Church Growing

Zulma Fabiola reporting from Casa de Oracion, Dios Habla Hoy in Cumpas, Sonora:

Hola Abuelita, we are doing well, thanks be to God. Greet Tata Calvino. We love you lots and really miss you. We have a lot to share.

The church is growing every Sunday! The women's meetings are full of good news and great joy. We are working, praying, fasting, and fighting for souls!

From Barbara: Alberto and Zulma are busy about the Master’s business. They still haven’t finished their home next to the church.  The times we have asked for help, very little has come in. They still need to put in the ceiling, electricity, plumbing, walls, and windows.

With current prices, it will cost $6,000.00. We are believing God for miracles to get them in their house.

VBS in Mexico

Faith Ministries has been sponsoring children’s outreaches for the past 37* years in Sonora, Chihuahua, and Sinaloa.

At this time, we have reached 82,600 children with VBS and plan to reach another 6,000 this year. Praise the Lord, and thanks to our faithful sponsors.

The children spend a week being immersed in God’s Word.

Many of them will meet Jesus as their Savior for the first time.

These programs present the Gospel in a way that makes it attractive and fun to hear and memorize God’s Word.

Many of these children don’t attend a Christian church, so it is a special opportunity to not only sow God’s Word in their hearts but to send it home to their families as well.

*If you receive our printed newsletter you will see that we reported 41 years. That was a math error on our part.
