God's Desire - That Every Beleiver be Used

God's Desire- That Every Beleiver be Used

by Barbara and Calvin Scott

Jesus boldly said in Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”

Jesus has never changed! He is still anointed to do the same; however He now works through us, His body! The way he works is still by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.

Sometimes it is easy for us to begin to live our lives by our own efforts instead of being hooked up to the flow of the Spirit and letting Him live through us by His Spirit.

Paul admonished the Galatians in chapter 3:3 “Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Verse 5, Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?”

I Corinthians 12:31 tells us to earnestly desire the best gifts. In verse 7 it says, “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all.” Our Father’s desire is that every believer be used by His Spirit

In I Corinthians 14:1 Paul goes on to say to desire spiritual gifts but especially that you may prophecy. While the gift of speaking in other tongues enables us to speak to God supernaturally, prophecy and interpretation of tongues enable God to speak to us and through us supernaturally.

Prophetic declaration or action is something said or done in the natural realm at the direction of God, that opens the way for Him to move in the spiritual realm, which then consequently effects change in the natural realm.  Prophetic ministry prepares the way for God to work upon the earth.  It gives voice to the purpose and plan of God.

Isaiah 55:11 declares, “So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Paul instructed us in I Thessalonians 5:19-21, “Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
