How to Raise Wonderful Children

How to Raise Wonderful Children

by Becky Melendez

1.    Always mean what you say.

2.    Don’t say, “no” or tell them to do something unless you intend to enforce what you said.

3.    Always make them do what you say. The younger you start this the easier it will be.

4.    Always reward disobedience with spanking, grounding etc.

5.    Always make sure they understand completely why they are being punished.

6.    Always let them know you and God love them unconditionally. They are not bad, what they did was bad.

7.    Admit and apologize to them when you are in the wrong.

8.    Remember you are the boss don’t let their whining and begging intimidate you into letting them have their way.

9.    Spend as much time doing things with them and teaching them as you can.

10.  Remember the way they see you care for other people, especially your family members is how they will someday care for you.

11.  Remember they mimic everything you do and say.

12.  Attend church faithfully.

13.  If you fall into sin don’t let guilt keep you from serving God, repent and get back up again.

14. Don’t forget to daily ask God for wisdom when dealing with your children.

15. Parents, don’t argue in front of the children. Discuss what you disagree about when the two of you are alone.

16. If a talk doesn’t bring your spouse around to your way of thinking, stay sweet about it, and ask God to change both of your hearts to what He wants.

17. Be happy, smile, have fun. You can make the ordinary daily routine into something fun with a gung ho attitude.

18. Pray for your children every day. Pray with them about things that concern them, everything from, "it's hard to write my name" - "which car should I buy".

Faithfully do these things and your children will be well-behaved and happy, bringing you much joy.

A wise son makes a glad father, But a foolish son is the grief of his mother.  Proverbs 10:1
