Hawaiian Missions Team October 2006

Pastors Jason and Terry Meechan from Kona, Hawaii brought their second missions team of the year. Their youth came in June and an adult construction team in October.

The Hawaiian people always amaze us with the power and quality of their ministry. They swoon us to joyful tears with their hula and challenge us to be more aggressive and passionate in the physical aspects of missions work.

The excellent pastoral care of the Meechan's has produced these mighty warriors for Christ. Many within their team have tremendous testimonies of how God has delivered them from the pains of sin that had once been consuming their lives with alcohol, drugs, and idol worship. They are now committed to worshipping their Savior. The gods of the islands no longer hold them in bondage and with their entire being they now worship God in all they do.

The team split into two crews, one built our new Christmas supplies storage shed and the other crew built a new room on the one room pastoral house in Jecori.

And the ladies put together Christmas bags when they weren't helping with construction. The pastoral house also got a major remodel with new roof and insulated ceiling, wall paint, and tile floors on site but yet to be installed. Our next team can help with that if Pastor Alberto doesn't finish before we get there.

Pastor Ruben Serrato, the founder of the Jecori church was with our Hawaiian team participating in the advancement of his original vision for the Jecori work. The new pastors, Alberto and Zulma Ruelas are a blessing to Ruben and Maria with their quality ministry to the people of Jecori.
On the last night we invited all of the area pastors to come to the Cumpas m ission house for dinner and a time of fellowship and ministry. We had 40 people attend from ten churches. The fellowship was precious. Jason brought forth a mighty word from the Lord and all of the pastors received special ministry. At the end we all formed a large circle and began to worship. The power of the Holy Spirit fell and continued to minister to all of us in His own special way.
