Friendship
Dear Friends,
Choice greetings in the Name Most Precious to God, Jesus, Christ the King.
As I address you in this letter as friends, I am reminded of this very special scripture: Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart; so does the sweetness of one's friend by advice from the heart. Your own friend, and your father's friend, do not forsake them. Proverbs 27:9-10a MKJV.
Our friendship, working at whatever level, has a strong and lasting potential to affect our relationship in the future. As an example, we just received several tons of beans and rice for distribution in Mexico from friends whose fathers and grandfathers were friends of my father and grandfather. (Proverbs 27:10b)
Lifelong friendships are important to our future and how the plan of God plays out in our lives.
Our missions work moved up from part time to fulltime on December 10, 1987. Within the following two years, the Lord brought numerous friends into our support network. Some were new friends, and some were old friends. Most of those people still support our lives and ministries after these 22 plus years.
Interesting enough, true friendship can’t be canceled by distance or years. I have true friends that I see several times a week and only recently met them and I have true friends I haven’t seen in years and I met them over 50 years ago. Where I grew up, a true friend was opposite of a fair weather friend. (Give that some thought.)
For us as Christians, our dearest and best friend is of course Jesus. John 15:15 puts it this way, No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master does. But I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. Simply put, this friendship opens the door for us to know our Father’s heart through His Son Jesus.
This friendship with Jesus is also the vehicle that takes us up to a level higher than friendship, into sonship. Now, that’s a friendship to be guarded. Some might say, Well now that I’m a son, I’m no longer on a friendship level with God. Well, before you swallow that, think of this: I am a son to Ed Scott and a father to Robert Scott and we all have a meaningful relationship because we’re friends. Take away that friendship and our sonship status becomes dysfunctional, unable to communicate the blessing. Likewise, in marriage, who knows, maybe being friends is really the tie that binds.
In summary, I want you to know that when we address our letter to you as Dear Friends, we don’t say it without feeling for you. You all mean the world to us and your support and even your prayers, as precious as they are, need the communication of our lasting friendship. That my friend is a powerful force for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
Your Friends,
Calvin and Barbara
Friend - defined by the Parsons Thesaurus : The person who runs to your aid with gusto when you wake them up at 2:00 AM.

Jesus told us in Matthew 19:14 … Allow the little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.
It is time to order material for this years VBS’s. We need $1,700.00 more just to order the materials. Last year Faith Ministries provided material for 3,000 children in 35 towns. We are wanting to order at least that much again this year.
These programs present the Gospel in a way that makes it attractive and fun to hear and memorize God’s Word. Most of these children don’t attend a Christian church, so it is a special opportunity to not only sow God’s Word in their hearts but to send it home to their families as well. |

Thank you Pastor John Nash for sending Dusty Dennison with 11,700 lbs. of beans and rice, also clothes, and toys from Stanley Union Church in Stanley, NM.
Also, a special thanks to the Mike Pope family. The beans were grown on land dedicated to the Lord’s work, so they’ll taste extra good.
It is like a chain reaction, as many people from Stanley and the Estancia Valley gave to Stanley Union Church, then they gave it to Faith Ministries, now we are giving it to many Mexican churches and ministries, and they will in turn give it to needy people in their communities. It a gift that keeps on giving. Hundreds of people will be blessed throughout the year by this special gift. Praise the Lord! |

Current Needs
Philippians 4:6 MKJV Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
By this scripture, we understand the importance of being thankful for what we have and the fact that God wants our request for present needs. Likewise, God’s people appreciate knowing we are thankful for what we have, and they too want to know our request, in order to do their part in prayer and supply.
So here’s some things made known:
1 Standard size refrigerator.
1 Non-electric LP gas range.
1 Video projector – 3000 lumen or better.
3 Heavy duty bunk beds with mattress’.
2 New up-to-date multiuse laptop computers.
Good used vehicles and motor bikes.
Most appliances, electronics and sound equipment in working order.
Non-perishable foods.
Someone to transport pickup load of chairs from Rankin, TX to Douglas AZ.
Christmas 2010 Act Now!
The Christmas programs are an awesome tool to impart the love of Jesus in the pueblos and to open the Gospel into new areas.
To be able to get the toys we need into Mexico, we must take them in faithfully all year long. It is simply impossible to get it done within the last few weeks before Christmas. We prefer new toys such as matchbox cars for boys and small stuffed animals or dolls for girls, but we will use any toys you send. The size of toy needs to fit into a 1 gallon zip lock bag with a hand full of candy, a bag of chips, and a piece of literature.
For parcel post carriers, mail toys to: Calvin Scott - 6787 King’s HWY - Douglas, AZ 85607.
