Dear Friends,
Choice greetings in Jesus’ Name. Barbara and I consider it an honor when you read these newsletters. We’ve always thought of these letters as an extended pulpit, enabling us to share the good report of what God is doing with our lives. The many of you who respond with a love note back our way, have a lot to do with encouraging our continuance.
This year Faith Ministries helped sponsor 18 Christmas teams that reached 14,000 people with the good news of the Gospel. Hallelujah! The children look forward to this beautiful program for months in advance. There is always a time of prayer where everyone invites Jesus to be born in their hearts. It is a sight that never fails to bring tears to our eyes and joy to our hearts.
Our motivation for all this activity is as clear as the banner hanging on the wall of our church: Mission One; Souls. Each gift bag contains a colorful gospel tract that explains in simple terms how to be saved, become a Christian, and began a personal prayer life with a God who hears.
Our part in this is expressed in Mark 1:14-17 … Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God draws near. Repent, and believe the gospel. And walking along beside the sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, Come after Me and I will make you fishers of men.
Then after Himself setting the example of how Kingdom work is to function, He gave us an explicit order in Mark 16:15-20 …Go into all the world, proclaim the gospel to all the creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. And miraculous signs will follow to those believing these things: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will be well. Then indeed, after speaking to them, the Lord was taken up into Heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And going out, they proclaimed everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word by miraculous signs following. Amen.
Our team Captain, Jesus of Nazareth, has never changed the orders in 2000 years, and His promise to lead and protect us is written in blood.
As you continue to join hearts of faith with us in this great endeavor, more and more people will learn the benefits of serving Christ, and that my friend puts a smile on His face.
In His Fields,
Calvin and Barbara
