Dear Partners,
Please receive our tearful, cheerful greetings. Tearful for the souls we haven’t reached yet and cheerful because you’re hooked up with us to change that situation.
All the while in the world around us there is crisis. Crisis at the gas pump, crisis at the bread store, crisis in the housing industry, crisis at the bank, crisis in the war, crisis, crisis, crisis. Interestingly enough this doesn’t seem to surprise people who read their Bible. Ecclesiastes 1:9-10, “That which has been is that which shall be; and that which has been done is that which shall be done; and there is nothing new under the sun. Is there a thing of which it may be said, See, this is new? It has already been in days of old, which were before us.”
From Adam to Paul the Apostle, and from Paul to the present, we have a historical record of people facing crisis. Every Bible character, nation and government experienced poverty and prosperity, ups and downs, a rise and a fall. Again, back to the Bible as our reference we can see how a good end always came to those who walked in faith. Their God pleasing faith always overcame the crisis.
The exact center of your KJV Bible says in Psalms 118:8 “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” The exact center of God’s will for us is to live in the theme of that scripture.
The world around us has little to hope for and they’re looking for answers. This presents terrific opportunity for us in leading them to Christ, because we have the answer they’re looking for. Our trust and stability in God’s Word is a powerful witness to our faith.
Philippians 4: 11-13 reminds us of how crisis should be viewed by the Christian, “Not that I speak according to need, for I have learned to be content in whatever state I am. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound. In everything and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
In Christ we always come out on top no matter what’s going on in our lives or in the world around us. In II Corinthians 2:14 the Word says; “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savor of his knowledge by us in every place.”
Well, in coming around to a last thought, we desire for you to know that we really appreciate your prayer and financial support. That is what God uses to send us forth into the great and ripe harvest fields of this earth.
We must focus on Christ rather than crisis because perishing souls can’t wait.

El Shaddai Mission Trip to the Sierra!
21 people from the El Shaddai Institutes in both Guaymas and Navojoa came together and spent the day up in the mountains 3-5 hours away, preaching the kingdom of God. We stopped and ministered in 2 villages that one day and baptized 3 born again believers.
Also we were able to have hands-on-ministry training in the village of La Higuera, Sonora. Bob, Miki and the boys began working in this villa ge back in 2002, when the local healing witch got born again and opened her home to us to do weekly teaching of the Word of God. Every time we go, more people receive Jesus as their lord and Savior. This trip, the students did the preaching, the laying hands on the sick and the exhorting and encouraging of the believers. Everyone who goes gets exposed to so much more than just a mountain town –the get exposed to the command of the great commission and its gets rooted in their hearts forever!
The ch urch in Techobampo, Sonora pastored by a 17 year old IE S graduate, Jesus Ernesto is growing. Literally, all the children from the village come to church, and they have grown by 7 more adults. A number of them wanted to be baptized in the nearby river. What a privilege to be part of it all.
Blanca’s Miracle
This is Blanca. She has suffered from multiple sclerosis for the past 5 years. Her h usband abandoned her and her two small children on the morning, when all of a sudden she was paralyzed from the waist down.
Blanca, standing for the first time in 5 years
A pastor and husband of one of our Instituto El Shaddai students ask us if we would go into her home and pray for her. When we first walked in, her face was so dark and desperately hopeless. I can’t even express to you the weight that she bore on her face. We began to teach her a little bit about God’s will for her concerning healing, then we laid hands on her and began to pray. Shortly afterward, she began to raise herself up off her wheelchair by 2 to 3 inches. She was ecstatic. She said, “I haven’t been able to do that in 5 years!” Then all of a sudden, her face lit up and she said, “I can do it!” It was SO awesome to see with our eyes the work of God’s healing power in her body. She was exuberant with joy as she stood for the first time in 5 years. She began to cry for joy. She has laid hold of this healing that Jesus provided for her on the work of the cross. We have continued to minister to her needs (spiritually, physically and financially) since March.
Bob and Miki hosted a mission team in Guaymas. They blanketed the city doing street ministry in the daytime and crusades at night. Seven of their IES graduates volunteered their time to come and translate for the teams. Timothy and Justin also helped to translate out on the streets.

Not Just a Traditional Holiday -Christmas 08– Evangelism Opportunity
With lots of toys to cross, we are buying and taking toys every time we go into Mexico. There is a local merchant that sells toys to us at half price. What a blessing it is! We are also avoiding buying toys from China this year because legal import duty for things made in China is 500%. Many of the good quality little cars are now being made in other countries.
We prefer new toys such as match box cars for boys andsmall stuffed animals or dolls for girls, but we will use any toys yousend; even from China. For parcel post carriers mail toys to: Calvin Scott -6787 King’s HWY - Douglas, AZ 85607.
