Dwelling in the Glory

As times and seasons change, we must have the wisdom of God to lead us forward in victory. The wisdom of this world has failed, but failure is not known in the Kingdom of God.

In Daniel 2:20-22 he declared … Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals the deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him.

While the world gropes in darkness, God reveals deep and secret things to those who are listening to and obeying His voice. Romans 8:14 tells us. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

In the wilderness, the children of Israel were led by a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. The cloud and the fire symbolized the glory of the Lord. Exodus 23:16-17 tells us, And the glory of the Lord abode upon Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days; and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.

We see another manifestation in I Kings 8:10-11, And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord, So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord.

When we dwell in a place of praise, the glory (presence) of the Lord will be a defense to us and a place of refuge. Isaiah 4:5-6 And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion (place of praise), and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the  glory shall be a defense. And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.

In Acts 2 when Peter was describing what had happened when the Holy Ghost was first given to the New Testament church in verse 19 the prophecy said, And I will show wonders in heaven above, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. The church was able to enter into this blessing because of the work of Jesus’ blood, the fire set upon them when they spoke with tongues, and the vapor of smoke was the cloud of the glory of the Lord.

A century ago, when the Holy Ghost was again poured out upon the church, many times the cloud of the glory of God was seen by all. They called it the Shekinah Glory of God. Many times in these days, ministers will see a cloud as the presence of God fills a place.

We need to be led by God’s cloud of glory and follow His fire. Where is His presence? The Psalmist David used the analogy of the way that a deer longs for and seeks the streams of water, so our souls seek for God. We need the presence of God more than we need the water we drink or the air we breathe.

We have seen an increase of the manifest presence of the Lord in our meetings in Douglas on the border and in Mexico. Romans 5:20 tells us that where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. This area is a witness that this scripture is true. With the increased violence and drug wars in Mexico, there is an increased glory and anointing on God’s people. Pastor Alberto Ruelas said it this way, "We’re not just rising to a new level, but we’re entering into a new dimension of God’s glory."

The Lord is saying, Increase Faith Ministries activities in Mexico. The rush is on. The bottom line is that in reality, this is a battle between the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Darkness and we are on the front lines carrying the banner of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Hallelujah! Your support during these times speed Kingdom victories. Thank you.

Following the Cloud of Glory,

Barbara and Calvin

Church Construction in Chihuahua City

PaLuis and Micaela Maulasstor Luis Maulas is building a new church in Chihuahua City. Even though there is no roof yet, they are already meeting on location. Souls saved and communities changed. Reports like these always follow the tireless efforts of Luis and Micaela Maulas as they continue to expand the Gospel influence in Chihuahua. They are deeply involved in the construction of their third church. We consider it an honor and a privilege to co-work with them. $230,000 pesos ($19,400 dollars) will go a long way toward roofing the new 7,000 sq. ft. edifice.

From the Mailbag

Aloha Barbara & Calvin. As usual, we can’t wait to get your newsletter and see what God has to share with us. This is truly the heartbeat of God and we enjoyed reading it and receiving it into our hearts. Thanks for being a vessel to deliver God’s Word. B.& M. S. Hawaii

Such a surge of joy and praise to the Lord went through my being as I read your newsletter for April. The word friend and friendship appeared so many times and brought my thoughts way back to beginnings and where we are now. My earliest memories are of Charlene Norris (Calvin’s Mom) and what a beautiful teenage girl she was, with a heart for the Lord at her early age and my not realizing how dear her son and family and your ministry would become to us. Then when Barbara’s Mom and Dad were in charge of VBS at First Assembly in Albuquerque (aprox.1957), I was the assistant to Sister Compton, but I came away from that school with more than anyone, I believe. Bro. and Sis. Mason were such a blessing as Barbara and family have become. Then when Jim was pastoring at Stanley and the church was growing and needed to widen their scope for missions and we prayed and the Lord impressed Faith Ministires on our hearts. Jim took this to the church board who acted upon it and thus the ministry to the Scott’s mission program began with lots of enthusiasm and still remains after all these years. …. E.T. Texas

I came away from our meeting and meal, very encouraged! I felt the manifest presence of God as we were conversing, and it lasted the entire time! To me it is evidence of God’s stamp of approval on your lives and ministry! I look forward to times of refreshing as we worship together… B. A. New Mexico

I have received your e-mail about the intention to buy a bus to continue with your EXELLENT work here in Mexico, you have done a lot for many communities, around here.  This is just to tell you to put me in for an offering. – To Bob from H. A., a business owner in Navojoa, Sonora.
