Under the King's Command

March 2009 Newsletter

Calvin and Barbara ScottDear Partners,

Well, by now most of you know the news. Major networks around the world are telling us, “we’re in a worldwide economic crisis, and it’s going to get worse before it gets better”.

In a minute, I’ll tell you why this is happening but first let me share with you what the Bible networks are reporting.

On channel 4:19 in Philippians we hear Paul of Tarsus report, But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

And on channel 3:9-10 in Proverbs, it’s reported by King Solomon, Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first fruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.

So whose report do we believe, the world’s networks, or the Bible networks? Both! Both you say, how so? Because both are true. God’s Word shows us how this can be in Galatians 6:7-9 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.

God’s Word on something should be enough for us, but if you need more proof, just look at what is going on all around us in the kingdoms of men. THEY SOWED TO THE FLESH (corruption) AND THEY ARE REAPING CORRUPTION. God said it would be that way.

But I say this, He who sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully. Each one, as he purposes in his heart, let him give; not of grief, or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.  And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that in everything, always having all self-sufficiency, you may abound to every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8

Hey folks, we can’t let the devil lie to us or convince us that we’re going down with the corrupt systems of this world. This is a them and us situation. Let’s make a firm choice as to whose side we’re on here. If you’ve been sowing into God’s field you have every God given right to harvest the sufficiency for which you’ve been sowing.

I remember as a small child in the early fifties, there came a horrible drought in the valley where we were raised. All across the valley farms, ranches, and business’ shut down and people moved away leaving their properties to foreclosure and bankruptcy. What was once called the pinto bean capital of the world became a dust bowl and wasteland.

However, there were a few exceptions such as my Papa and Mama. They gave offerings, brought in their tithes, and believed God. The result was that they prospered throughout the drought. Our acreage increased, our herd multiplied, and Dad had more jobs than we could get to.

God saved the believers then and He’s ready to do it again for all those who dare to believe. Let’s realize that sowing and reaping in God’s Kingdom does not depend on, nor is a part of the world banking systems.

Praise the Lord of the harvest. Let’s keep doing business with God and our sowing and reaping will result in our sufficiency and prosperity. God said it would be that way.

His bank won’t fail or be bought out by someone bigger. Let’s honor Him by telling everyone about His Good News!

Important Kingdom Nuggets

The Kingdom of God/Heaven is the sphere of government where King Jesus reigns. He forces His rule on no one. We must voluntarily choose to make Him, Lord of our lives.

Just like Jesus we must: Be completely dependant on our Father, be completely obedient to our Father and make ourselves fully available to the Holy Spirit.

The Mandate of the Kingdom has not changed:   And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.   Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, … Matthew 28:18-19

When the Gospel of the Kingdom is preached, the power of the Kingdom is manifested: And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the Kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. Matthew 4:23

The Battle of the Kingdom: For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12

We have Kingdom Authority when we are under the authority of the King: Man in authority because he was under authority - For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. Matthew 8:9 Jesus is far above all authority - and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. Ephesians 1:19-21 God has raised us up with Him - and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:6

Kingdom Provision: But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33 When you seek first the Kingdom of God, you become a magnet drawing the things you need to you.

Kingdom Authority

The Lord is asking you to
Come under His Authority.

Only under the authority of the
Lord Jesus Christ can one be free.

Under His authority, there is freedom and safety.
Those who refuse to walk under the authority of the Almighty
will find themselves under the controlling authorities of man.

Man’s authority is designed by
God to control lawlessness.

However, under God’s authority lawlessness does not exist.
Therefore, one finds freedom
And a safe place.

Only by personal decision,
Can one enter in
And come under God’s authority.
He forces it upon no one.

Come to Me says the Lord and be safe.

In His Fields,

Calvin and Barbara

Summer Vacation
Bible Schools

ISummer Vacation Bible School 08t is time to start gathering money to order material for the summer Vacation Bible Schools. Last year we bought VBS materials for 2800 children in 25 towns. This year we want to order enough to reach 3,000 children.

The VBS lasts for 5 to 6 days for three hours each day. Most of our pastors not only Outdoor VBS Summer 08 do VBS’s for their own church but also conduct outreaches in one or two other towns.

Congratulations

Alberto and Zulma RuelasPastors Alberto and Zulma Ruelas from Jecori are proud of a new bundle of joy; baby Jason, born December 22nd. He was named after Pastor Jason Meechan from Hawaii.  (We met him and he is so precious. However, we forgot our camera. Oh dear!)
