Faith Family Reunion Report
The Battle Cry
Dear Friend,
Joel 2:1 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sound the alarm in my holy mountain… In Israel when the people were preparing to go to war, they would blow the trumpet with a battle cry. There is a battle cry arising from our spirits! Joel 3:16 The Lord also will roar from Zion … the heavens and the earth will shake; but the Lord will be a shelter for his people …
Even as the US-Mexican border is emerging as one of the most violent places on earth, the Lord spoke to us to increase FAITH MINISTRIES activates in Mexico. We feel privileged to be in this strategic place at this time. The following paragraphs list some interesting statistics.
The drug cartels wage war with each other and with the government to control the lucrative drug trade which brings in forty billion US dollars every year into Mexico. For comparison, the budget for the entire Mexican military is only four billion dollars a year.
Since Mexican President Calderon declared war on the cartels in 2006, there have been over 28,000 deaths. 90% of those killed have been involved with the drug trade, 5% have been Mexican soldiers and officials, and the remaining 5% have been civilians caught in the crossfire.
Douglas and Cochise County have been one of the main pipelines for drugs coming into the US, taking second only to Miami; a place of greed, corruption, and murder; a place where the illegal trafficking of drugs, as well as human cargo, is a way of life – and death.
Most of these people are crossing into eternity without Jesus.
The privilege of being called of the Lord comes with responsibility. As born again believers we are representatives of the Kingdom of God. We are not called to sit in the corner as a spectator or bury our head in the sand; we are called to go to war in the heavenly realm.
Ephesians 6:11-13 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Our place in prayer is to rise up above the natural, to that place in the spirit, where as sons of God, we can orchestrate the will of God in the name of Jesus by the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 1:21 tells us that He is seated, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
Ephesians 2:6 goes on to tell us that we are made to sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. When we are seated with the Lord in that heavenly place, we don’t talk to God about how big the problem is but we speak to the problem about how mighty our God is. We are called to take back what the enemy has stolen.
Ephesians 3:19 admonishes us to know the love of Christ so that we can be filled with all the fullness of God, and I Corinthians 13:8 tells us that love never fails. Love never ever fails! It is the most powerful force! Only the love of God can touch a hardened sinner’s heart and turn his life around.
God has promised to give us the place we put our feet in His name and to give us the people whose lives we touch with His love.
Loving the Lost,
Calvin and Barbara
Faith Family Reunion 2010 - Glory to Glory
In the opening service as we lingered in singing hallelujah in worship to our King, the angels joined us in singing. Many people heard their voices and some heard instruments that we don’t even have playing. Our praise leader, Nina Nelson related that she was thinking I’ve never heard our people sing like this. It’s so beautiful! It must be the visitors that harmonize so wonderful. Then the voices rose to a high octave and the sounds were coming from where no one was even singing. WOW!
We had 33 ministers attend from 14 ministries, which was wonderful, as the majority of Mexican pastors we work with don’t have paperwork to come to the US. One pastor wanted to sell his pickup so they would have the funds to get their paperwork to attend Reunion. We encouraged them not to do that as Reunion only lasts for 2 days and they need their pickup all year.
Three couples joined arms with Faith Ministries in ordination.
Our local church people took turns preparing delicious feasts for the five meals we served and offered hospitality to the guests. FMC members, You are the best!
Jorge Chow from Delicias, Chihuahua wrote: We had a glorious time. Thank you for your friendship, for your care, for your hospitality, for your spiritual advise, for listening to the voice of heaven and opening the doors for us to enter. See more photos on Facebook.
