Dear Partners,
We extend to you our sincere heartfelt greeting this 9th month of 2009.
As I prayerfully meditate over this writing, I am reminded of the feeling of being alone that came over me numerous times lately. It seems everyone sooner or later has that feeling.
So, it must be that the Lord is preparing us for great and mighty things. During these times, God takes the opportunity to push our reset button.
Abram felt alone in the midst of his neighbors giggling children, then suddenly… he’s the father of nations. Joseph felt alone in an Egyptian prison, then suddenly… he’s the king’s favorite guy. Elijah felt alone hiding from Jezebel, then suddenly …. A still small voice changed his life.
Paul felt alone in a Roman prison, then writes a letter to Timothy that’s been used of God for 2,000 years. John the apostle felt alone on the isle of Patmos, then he meets Jesus the Christ in a supernatural vision that makes history into the infinite ages.
Well, maybe this alone feeling is not so bad after all. For all of you feeling like me today, let’s take heart, for the Lord will push our reset button anytime now, and who knows, we may just make a mark on history too.
I pray our letters of support to one another will always do their part in reminding us of how really not alone we are.
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Romans 13:5 KJV
Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said,I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless, nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! Assuredly not! Romans 13:5 AMP
Appreciating you,
Calvin & Barbara
Remember: Grace is like (agape) love.
You don’t have to work for it.
It’s free.
Beans and Rice
Thank you missionary-pastor John Nash for sending Dusty and Andrea Dennison with 6,000 lbs. of beans and rice, also clothes, and a variety of other things from Stanley Union Church in Stanley, NM.
It is like a chain reaction, as many people from Stanley and the Estancia Valley gave to Stanley Union Church, then they gave it to Faith Ministries, now we are giving it to many Mexican churches and ministries, and they will in turn give it to needy people in their communities. It is a gift that keeps on giving. Hundreds of people will be blessed throughout the year by this special gift. Praise the Lord!
Youth Arise
Faith Ministries Church youth were privileged to attend Youth Arise Christian Youth Camp sponsored by Kona Faith Center at Kilauea Military camp , HI (on the big island). They had an AWESOME time!
Every single person received a word from the Lord and the ones that hadn’t been baptized in the Holy Ghost were filled! They spent the week saturated in the Spirit.
Group leader Nina Nelson wrote, I am so impressed with all of the kids from our group. I have seen them all step out of their comfort zones and glorify God with ALL of their being. I just can’t say enough how great the Lord is and what awesome things that he has done.
The week they weren’t in camp, youth leaders Nick and Laurie Sokach hosted them in their home. There were also many local youth from their church that stayed there too, about 30 young people in all. It was totally amazing.
Our youth worked all year doing fund raisers to be able to go, and it was well worth it. They returned home full of fire and zeal for God.
We send a special thank you to Pastors Jason and Terry Meechan and Nick and Laurie Sokach.
Vacation Bible School in Mexico
Jesus told us in Matthew 19:14 … Allow the little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.
It’s VBS season and everywhere we go we hear wonderful reports of big crowds and happy children. These VBS programs present the Gospel in a way that makes it attractive and fun to hear and memorize God’s Word. Most of these children don’t attend a Christian church, so it is a special opportunity to not only sow God’s Word in their hearts but to send it home to their families as well.
Often we hear, This is the only fun thing I get to do all summer. The Mother of one of the little girls that said this is in prison. Truly, this outreach is the hand of Jesus extended unto the least of these.
